Why gas prices DON’T upset me.
I remember rationing in the 70s.
I remember picking up pennies to get enough money to afford a gallon of gas.
I remember NOT being able to drive because I couldn’t afford gas.
“Vehicular Ambrosia”
That is what the Greek god Cashios, the “god of cash back” calls gasoline.
It truly is ambrosia and we take it for granted, we squander it to not walk that 1⁄2 mile to the post office or walk to the corner store.
We feel it is our right, our destiny to use and deplete.
So the next time you fill the tank on your 4000 lb beast, that can travel 80 mph for 18 miles on one gallon of fuel, think about the billions of dollars and sweat it took to deliver that gallon to you and just say,
“Thank you for my Vehicular Ambrosia, it eases my life so much.”
