We’re watch­ing The Fly (1986) and I’m so an­gry at Jeff Goldblum’s Seth Brun­dle this time around.

He’s a creepy-ass in­cel who gets up­set be­cause the woman he just met and has slept with once leaves his apartment/lab to go tell off her for­mer boyfriend/editor and he pouts and makes as­sump­tions and gets drunk and does some­thing in­cred­i­bly stu­pid.

Veron­i­ca nev­er should have giv­en him the time of day and it’s in­ex­plic­a­ble why she was ever at­tract­ed to him in the first place, but the chem­istry prob­a­bly works to the ex­tent that it did be­cause Geena Davis and Jeff Gold­blum were dat­ing at the time.

I’ve seen this be­fore (in col­lege) but I’m so an­noyed with the whole thing now.

He gets vi­o­lent and im­pul­sive when he be­comes merged with the fly, but he was hard­ly a great per­son be­fore that hap­pened.
