Watched The Preda­tor.

I don’t un­der­stand. Why do we have so many garbage se­quels this year?

I might ac­tu­al­ly hate it more than Juras­sic World: The Fall­en King­dom (2018). It’s shock­ing that it was writ­ten and di­rect­ed by Shane Black, the same guy who also wrote the orig­i­nal Preda­tor (1987). Did he make it in­ten­tion­al­ly ter­ri­ble so that there’ll be no more at­tempts to make a Preda­tor film?

It’s wrong on so many lev­els, both as a film and as a Preda­tor film. And I’m just not go­ing to get into the de­tails. It’s not worth the time it would take to type them up. I’ve said too much al­ready.

And I am still wait­ing for the true Preda­tor pre­quel which takes place dur­ing the Amer­i­can Civ­il War, as sug­gest­ed in Preda­tor 2 (1990). I’d love the fran­chise to be alive un­til then, but it sure looks dead now. ³⁄₁₀.

In­ter­est­ing­ly, the film is called The Preda­tor in France but Le Pré­da­teur in Que­bec. They make things more French than French some­times.
