Hell, some of y’all would send a “Get Well Soon” card to the guard with snif­fles that forced you and your fam­i­ly into the gas cham­ber.

It’s been four years of re­pub­li­cans show­ing you every minute of every day what they are.

And I get that “Fuck your feel­ings” is low-hang­ing fruit but it de­serves slight­ly deep­er ex­plo­ration …

I had the sniper pinned down. At this point he’d tak­en out a dozen peo­ple. I had the kill shot ready. But then I thought, ‘what about *his* feel­ings.’ I mean, this guy has a fam­i­ly.

When the right al­most mono­lith­i­cal­ly (and for all in­tents and pur­pos­es, *ab­solute­ly* mono­lith­i­cal­ly) makes car­ing a weak­ness, makes em­pa­thy a weak­ness, makes a cen­tral pil­lar of their brand trolling those with em­pa­thy but then ex­pects end­less amounts of em­pa­thy when the dan­ger they them­selves pro­voke gets too close to them and things they care about?

Well that’s clas­sic text­book abu­sive bul­ly be­hav­ior.

And you can sug­gest that em­pa­thy is an im­mutable and that it should ex­ist uni­ver­sal­ly but do­ing that only re­al­ly makes it a use­ful tool for weaponiza­tion by those with an elas­tic moral com­pass (read: the Amer­i­can right wing) and it is­n’t in­cum­bent on the em­pa­thet­ic or tol­er­ant to of­fer that weapon up when you know for a fact that it’s just go­ing to get used against you, prob­a­bly im­me­di­ate­ly.

Bad faith ac­tors know what you will al­low and that which you will al­low then be­comes the play­ing field. To not cov­er that field out of some one-sided nod at a sports­man­ship that you’re the only side abid­ing by is not only false but stu­pid.

In sum: They know you’ll be the big­ger per­son and they will use it against you as they stoop ever low­er. And if by some chance you do beat them they will use that to pre­tend they were al­ways on your side af­ter.

Do you hon­est­ly be­lieve these shit­heads ac­tu­al­ly have the courage of their sup­posed con­vic­tions?

Mean­ing they cry “muh rights” about pro­tect­ing them­selves and oth­ers from a virus but only so far as they be­lieve that virus is harm­ful.

They think it’s a hoax and that al­lows them to pose like they are choos­ing Lib­er­ty over Death.

But they don’t ac­tu­al­ly be­lieve in the Death which makes them cow­ards.
