I feel like it bears re­peat­ing, that if you are not able to ap­pre­ci­ate or ro­man­ti­cize things that are com­mon, you’re re­al­ly only mak­ing your­self mis­er­able.

Like, you could look at your part­ner when they’re tired and un­shaven and in their do­ing-laun­dry clothes and feel bit­ter every time you’re not liv­ing in a fan­ta­sy

OR

you could just in­clude that as part of your fan­ta­sy and make out with them.

In one sce­nario, you are only doomed to mis­ery and no­body ben­e­fits. In the oth­er, you get to make out with your fa­vorite per­son.

But I’m not try­ing to tell you what to do.

I’m just say­ing that peo­ple (women most­ly) lit­er­al­ly get mur­dered over this kind of stuff. Some­one got into their own head ob­sess­ing about how some­one wasn’t do­ing or be­ing ex­act­ly what they want, in­stead of just de­cid­ing to want some­thing they could re­al­ly have.
