2019 is the year I con­tin­ue along my same jour­ney, be­cause the turn of a new year does not mag­i­cal­ly trans­form re­al­i­ty or grant abil­i­ties we didn’t pos­sess be­fore. You can start mak­ing pos­i­tive changes for your­self at lit­er­al­ly any time you feel like.

What even IS time? It’s prob­a­bly not even real.

Res­o­lu­tions are still cool! Just don’t beat your­self up if it doesn’t go as planned. Mak­ing se­ri­ous life changes isn’t about stick­ing to every­thing per­fect­ly. It’s just about try­ing con­sis­tent­ly.

I stopped bit­ing my nails, I gave up dairy and I keep a fair­ly reg­u­lar yoga prac­tice. But it has tak­en many years of tri­al and er­ror, and self for­give­ness, and I still mess up once in a while.

So even if you lose some steam by mid-Feb­ru­ary, and are think­ing about it in Au­gust, you don’t have to keep pun­ish­ing your­self. You can start again from there. It’s more im­por­tant to be on the path than to have al­ready ar­rived all the way at the end.

Be­cause no­body has. Ex­cept Don­ald Trump, of course.
