What is it with so many nurs­es be­ing anti-vax?

Can some­one help me fig­ure this out?

I mean, I know “Cs get de­grees” but what the fuck kind of school­ing
1)  are these peo­ple get­ting and
2)  al­lows peo­ple like this to be­come nurs­es?

The nurse I had at the clin­ic who checked me in and took my vi­tals didn’t know how to pro­nounce the word “Pep­cid” (she pro­nounced it “pep-seed” and read it from my chart like she’d nev­er seen that word be­fore).

I could see strug­gling to pro­nounce some night­mare of a sev­en­teen let­ter med­ica­tion name, but Pep­cid?

When I was so ut­ter­ly con­fused by her vo­cal­iza­tion, she had to show me the screen, and I said,
“Oh! Uh, it’s ‘Pep­cid,’”
she replied with
“my lips could bare­ly move un­der my mask,”
and I think she was prob­a­bly just re­al­ly em­bar­rassed,
but still. (And no, it was not a lan­guage bar­ri­er. This was a ⚪️ girl who spoke per­fect Eng­lish and enun­ci­at­ed every­thing else just fine, ex­cept for every oth­er one of my med­ica­tions on file.)

She was also wear­ing the flim­si­est, loos­est pa­per sur­gi­cal mask, so …

Thank­ful­ly the ARNP I had was … far more re­as­sur­ing when it came to her abil­i­ty to treat me.

How are these peo­ple be­com­ing nurs­es?! Why?!?!?!

Also, this one ded oh well.
