You look like hell. That’s not why you should be dragged, but our youth-ob­sessed cul­ture ob­vi­ous­ly dri­ves the com­pul­sion to turn your­self into a liv­ing Madame Tussaud’s in­stall­ment.

It’s un­for­tu­nate and sad. But here you are say­ing you won’t be bro­ken.

But you’ve fucked with your face so much, I’m not sure you’re so firm in that con­vic­tion.
 

Madon­na is the de fac­to Queen of Pop and she’s worth al­most a cool bil­lion. She has more pow­er and con­trol than any­one can imag­ine.

And while I can re­spect the con­tri­bu­tions Madge has made to the mu­sic in­dus­try and the bound­aries she’s pushed, I can also think her ex­treme plas­tic surgery looks ter­ri­ble and that she’s be­ing tone deaf about her ob­scene wealth and priv­i­lege.

These things aren’t mu­tu­al­ly ex­clu­sive.

She set the stan­dard dur­ing the 80s by which every oth­er fe­male pop artist was mea­sured – for more than a good twen­ty years.

But that’s not be­ing a rebel. That’s be­ing main­stream.

And while she start­ed out very much a rebel, she has not been for a very, very, very long time.

Women don’t have to uni­ver­sal­ly sup­port every oth­er woman in every­thing they do. Women are ca­pa­ble of do­ing dumb shit and we do dumb shit be­cause we’re hu­man.

There’s a dif­fer­ence be­tween ar­bi­trar­i­ly shit­ting on some­one just be­cause you’re a misog­y­nist and call­ing out dumb shit.

This is the lat­ter.
