I don’t really care about Mother! the movie, but I love that it angered lots of people who went to see it.
So put my CinemaScore down as an A++ for infuriating moviegoers.
Maybe Mother! is amazing, maybe it’s terrible. One thing I *do* know is that 9 times out of 10, if someone says a movie was ‘dumb,’ it’s generally because they themselves are dim or have awful taste. There’s just something about how people dismissively use that word in particular.
It’s like it comes from the same place where someone takes personal offense that something dares to try something different. There’s a hint of feeling threatened in it.
Art should provoke Reaction.
Thomas saw Explosions in the Sky on an off night and he climbed on stage and beat up the band. More of THAT please.
Christy’s last flick was so polarizing that it made me commit identity theft against someone that wasn’t even involved in its production.
We need more of that and less giant expensive movies no one can remember seeing.
Also, I haven’t seen It but I think it’s bullshit that that’s not the clown’s name. Bruce Willis is also named Die Hard in that series of films.
