I guess I’m pretty depressed.
Crowd: “How depressed ARE you?”
I’m thinking of doing stand-up at one of the next open mics.
My skin gets pretty dry, so most of my routine revolves around staying hydrated and using a heavy moisturizer. I rotate between like three different brands depending on the season. I almost never use foundation except for job interviews and especially fancy occasions. Also I’m very pale so I can only wear brands that make a color white enough for me.
I’m not very physically abled or good with weapons, but I have been teaching myself infosec and am familiar with the basics of building explosives.
Pictures of me from my teens and early 20s look like I am always slightly shrugging or leaning forward, but really that’s just how my spine was shaped, and I would become frustrated when people told me, “Don’t slouch, stand up straight!” I was like, “I have scoliosis. This is as straight as it goes, dude.”
After a little more than a decade of semi-regular yoga practice and a willingness to consistently carry my body in new uncomfortable ways, it’s kind of crazy to look at myself and see how far it has come. I still have pain in my back, but it’s so minor compared with how much I carried with me before.
Anyway, this is just a reminder that it’s ok if you’re not exactly where you want to be. You have probably accomplished more than you realize. ❤
