“Don’t miss the absurd Dada Dancehall, featuring avant-garde music and motion dotted with unexpected twists and surreal turns, and explore more art movements on view throughout the Museum, from Impressionism to Expressionism and beyond!”

“Steve and and his last minute things, I love it!”

On Monday, I was informed that THE ONLY THING missing from the DADA Dancehall was a bit of FLOMMesque learning – WAT IS DADA? – and in a weird I only have 3 days to come up with something move, I said, okay. I’ll do it.
SO with three days prep —
TO-NIGHT (yes, TO-NIGHT) I will be joined by a small group of FLOMMISTS to pretty much take over the elegant Crocker ballroom and HELP turn it into a depraved DADAIST salon — the entire line up, planning and Dancehall experience has been coordinated by the incredible FLOMMISTS at Norcal Noisefest. Also done rather last minute too!
We’ll be throwing some SWAG at people, we have brand nü RADíO FLoMM bumper stickers (with the nü logo) and maybe – just maybe – we may be able to explain DADA and FLOMM to the regular Crocker Art Museum Thursday night ArtMix crowd.
Things are printed, costumes made and Audrey from RADíO FLoMM is ready to babble poetry to whoever does or doesn’t want to hear it.
In addition to live entertainment and a bunch of other things, there’s also an ALEXANDER McQUEEN SHOW and a GERMAN EXPRESSIONIST exhibition going on right now. Like, it is a museum.
The CROCKER. Sacramento. TO-NIGHT.
