Ask your­self why you felt the need to bring the trans­gen­der com­mu­ni­ty into the con­ver­sa­tion with no ev­i­dence that this per­son was ac­tu­al­ly transgender. 

2.
Ask your­self if you un­der­stand enough about hor­mones, chro­mo­somes, gen­der, and trans­gen­derism to be in­volved in the con­ver­sa­tion. It’s okay to not join in on a hot top­ic be­cause you’re wait­ing for more in­for­ma­tion.

3.
Re­flect on what you ac­tu­al­ly do in real life to stop do­mes­tic vi­o­lence in your community.

4.
Re­flect qui­et­ly and come back with three times the en­er­gy in your apolo­gies to this young woman and to the trans community. 

Can you even imag­ine what the last few days has been for her … af­ter achiev­ing a life goal .…
