I’m kin­da gonna maybe min­i­mize the im­pact of some of my sen­tences when I feel like it.

And I’m gonna apol­o­gize when I “shouldn’t.”

Sor­ry I’m in the way!
Sor­ry we al­most ran into each oth­er!
Sor­ry I stut­tered!

And I’m gonna vo­cal fry?
And up­turn my sen­tences?
Make every de­clar­a­tive sen­tence an apolo­getic sor­ta ques­tion??

Be­cause the root of these ideas is to get women and femmes to be­have their way to be­ing re­spect­ed in pa­tri­archy and I’d rather just be my­self than turn every­one into curt, ag­gres­sive, mo­not­o­nous men.

I’m also pro­found­ly frus­trat­ed that it’s women and femmes who have to change no mat­ter the is­sue.

Don’t get tak­en se­ri­ous­ly? Talk like a man.
Don’t get paid enough? Ne­go­ti­ate like a man.
Don’t feel safe enough?

Dress in a way a man won’t like.

Even though stats seem to in­di­cate that these changes don’t mit­i­gate shit.
