The sad re­al­i­ty is
in fif­teen to twen­ty years, all of these chil­dren will be in and out of the crim­i­nal jus­tice sys­tem like a re­volv­ing turn­stile and Re­pub­li­cans will point to their eth­nic­i­ties and say “see?” and stu­pid, racist peo­ple will fall for it.

We are cre­at­ing
an en­tire gen­er­a­tion of fu­ture bro­ken peo­ple who will have no choice but to re­sort to crime and/or self harm be­cause of the se­vere trau­ma and ne­glect they ex­pe­ri­enced at such a young age.

And un­less we start do­ing some­thing about it and we learn a very im­por­tant les­son, this will hap­pen all over again.
