What is it with so many nurses being anti-vax?
Can someone help me figure this out?
I mean, I know “Cs get degrees” but what the fuck kind of schooling
1) are these people getting and
2) allows people like this to become nurses?
The nurse I had at the clinic who checked me in and took my vitals didn’t know how to pronounce the word “Pepcid” (she pronounced it “pep-seed” and read it from my chart like she’d never seen that word before).
I could see struggling to pronounce some nightmare of a seventeen letter medication name, but Pepcid?
When I was so utterly confused by her vocalization, she had to show me the screen, and I said,
“Oh! Uh, it’s ‘Pepcid,’”
she replied with
“my lips could barely move under my mask,”
and I think she was probably just really embarrassed,
but still. (And no, it was not a language barrier. This was a ⚪️ girl who spoke perfect English and enunciated everything else just fine, except for every other one of my medications on file.)
She was also wearing the flimsiest, loosest paper surgical mask, so …
Thankfully the ARNP I had was … far more reassuring when it came to her ability to treat me.
How are these people becoming nurses?! Why?!?!?!
Also, this one ded oh well.
