Why can’t I choose an op­tion that says “YES, I’M SIN­GLE” on Face­book?

How bout an op­tion that doesn’t mean “I’M AVAIL­ABLE” ?

I do not un­der­stand why it’s so hard for peo­ple to get that

I am se­ri­ous!

I am so done with re­la­tion­ships, at least for the fore­see­able fu­ture. I’ve got way too much go­ing on in my life that I need to fix be­fore I EVEN CON­SID­ER do­ing THAT again.

I nev­er un­der­stood why peo­ple think be­ing sin­gle is a bad thing, or al­ways feel the need to com­ment on the fact that I am.

Like, I am a less­er per­son for be­ing okay with be­ing by my­self??

Ob­vi­ous­ly a lot of peo­ple don’t like the idea of “be­ing alone” and see it as a char­ac­ter flaw, but I hon­est­ly think it proves how in­de­pen­dent and strong a per­son is.

I have mad re­spect for peo­ple who can rec­og­nize that they need to take care of them­selves first be­fore look­ing for val­i­da­tion or com­fort from some­one else.
 

I mean

I don’t mind a dude ask­ing nice­ly and then re­spect­ing my choice to stay sin­gle, but man! So many of them just straight up send dick pics or tell me all the things they’d do to me if they could.

I’m like “yoooo dude. Slow the fuck down. Y’all haven’t even asked me what my fa­vorite hob­by is yet or what kin­da movie genre I like the most –”
 

I mean

AT LEAST TELL ME YOUR NAME BE­FORE YOU SEND ME NASTY PICS OR START CALL­ING ME MUL­TI­PLE TIMES.

IN A ROW.
