why local? let’s talk

Your lo­cal small busi­ness has ba­si­cal­ly been work­ing for free for the last two years.

Why?

The cost of their ma­te­ri­als in­creased ex­po­nen­tial­ly.

And yes, their prices may have changed to re­flect that but I as­sure you … they took the blunt of the ex­pense.

We ab­sorbed in­fla­tion like kevlar.

We chose our crafts­man­ship over a pay­day.

We chose you. Our com­mu­ni­ty and clients.

At this point all of us mom and pop shops have a shelf life.

We are ag­ing like greek yo­gurt.

With re­spect to dairy, this will get ugly.

While these are the mar­ket forces of a com­plete­ly new econ­o­my, it’s just nice to be ro­man­tic and anachro­nis­tic for a bit longer.

Here’s to be­ing fool­ish.
