For the past few days I’ve been pret­ty sick, and to­day was no dif­fer­ent. How­ev­er, I was able to keep food down and not faint – so I deemed my­self fit to go to a vam­pire role­play­ing game tonight, al­beit a cough­ing char­ac­ter.

When get­ting to the train, there passed an hour of con­fu­sion – and me get­ting the wrong tick­et in a con­fused fever.

On the way there, half way across Ger­many, my train mys­te­ri­ous­ly stops and says it’s about to change di­rec­tions and go back to Berlin.

By this point I am pret­ty hun­gry, and some of the oth­er vam­pires are wait­ing for me. I get out and in­ves­ti­gate. The woman at the in­for­ma­tion desk says the train won’t leave un­til 10pm, sev­er­al hours lat­er.

This is dif­fi­cult news. I be­gin to feel pan­icky and try to take deep breaths then, I look around for some ve­g­an food. To my con­ster­na­tion I only see place af­ter place serv­ing burg­ers. My frus­tra­tion mounts as my blood sug­ar drops.

Thank­ful­ly I find a gro­cery store, and I’m strug­gling to keep it to­geth­er when this lit­tle girl kicks a red ball at me. Im­me­di­ate­ly I set down all my lug­gage and kick the ball back and forth with her. I take it into my arms for a mo­ment and con­tact jug­gle with it – to her ap­par­ent amaze­ment.

Every­thing is okay.

Sup­plies to make a sand­wich are found and I chill out. Thanks uni­verse, for send­ing me this – avatar of play, to re­mind me not to take dif­fi­cul­ties so se­ri­ous­ly.
