For the past few days I’ve been pretty sick, and today was no different. However, I was able to keep food down and not faint – so I deemed myself fit to go to a vampire roleplaying game tonight, albeit a coughing character.
When getting to the train, there passed an hour of confusion – and me getting the wrong ticket in a confused fever.
On the way there, half way across Germany, my train mysteriously stops and says it’s about to change directions and go back to Berlin.
By this point I am pretty hungry, and some of the other vampires are waiting for me. I get out and investigate. The woman at the information desk says the train won’t leave until 10pm, several hours later.
This is difficult news. I begin to feel panicky and try to take deep breaths then, I look around for some vegan food. To my consternation I only see place after place serving burgers. My frustration mounts as my blood sugar drops.
Thankfully I find a grocery store, and I’m struggling to keep it together when this little girl kicks a red ball at me. Immediately I set down all my luggage and kick the ball back and forth with her. I take it into my arms for a moment and contact juggle with it – to her apparent amazement.
Everything is okay.
Supplies to make a sandwich are found and I chill out. Thanks universe, for sending me this – avatar of play, to remind me not to take difficulties so seriously.
