Then pic­ture JFK,
“I just can’t see any harm, the U.S.S.R wouldn’t do that.”

John F. Kennedy:
“I be­lieve the U.S.S.R. I just don’t see how the ships head­ed to Cuba could be a threat.”

A U.S. Pres­i­dent, strong­ly be­liev­ing Rus­sia is no threat to our se­cu­ri­ty, is alert­ed to a nu­clear launch against the U.S.

First ac­tion is to call Russia’s leader to ask if it is true, and while he’s on hold Wash­ing­ton and the rest of the na­tion – in­clud­ing Eu­rope – is in­cin­er­at­ed. Rus­sia and Chi­na pick up the pieces.

It would make a great movie, and a hor­ri­fy­ing re­al­i­ty.

No wor­ries, couldn’t hap­pen. He ‘Mis­spoke,’ right?
