Can we stop using the phrase “Celebrate Memorial Day”?

There’s such a disconnect in this country about what today is.

This is not a day to get all excited about sales, this is not a day to get drunk with friends.

This day is not a day of celebration.

This is a day of solemn remembrance and a day of loss and grieving for thousands.

What the fuck is happy about the death of thousands upon thousands of people?

This is not a joyous holiday.

This is not about you.

And don’t forget Trump called our dead soldiers “suckers and losers”
