This has hap­pened just a few times so far and tonight I’ve only had a few groups of trick or treaters:

Po­litest chil­dren in the world:
“Trick or treat! May I have some can­dy?”

Me:
“Of course, take what you like!”

Po­litest chil­dren in the world:
“Thank you!”

Me:
“Guys, take more if you want!”

Po­litest chil­dren in the world:
“No thank you, we need to leave more for the oth­er kids.”

Me:
“Okay.”

Po­litest chil­dren in the world:
“Hap­py Hal­loween!”
 

THE KIDS ARE AL­RIGHT YOU GUYS!!!!
 

Then,
this ab­solute sweet­heart kid just grabbed a box of raisins and the look of hor­ror on his face when he re­al­ized was heart­break­ing,

but
be­cause again, po­litest chil­dren ever,

he just said
“Thank you”

and I was like
“If you want can­dy, take some can­dy”

and he was like
“It’s okay, I’ll just take the raisins.”

just like so sweet

and I was
“Kid, take some can­dy.”

and I grabbed a huge hand­ful and
“Here it’s okay, do you want this in­stead?”

“Can I re­al­ly?”

“Yes dude, take it, it’s Hal­loween, raisins are gross I get it.”

“THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!”
 

These kids are melt­ing my ice cold heart man.
