All the time I see peo­ple ar­gue that the Unit­ed States can’t and shouldn’t have free health­care the same way every oth­er in­dus­tri­al­ized na­tion does, while fail­ing to un­der­stand just how much comes out of their pay­check in tax­es for things that only ben­e­fit the rich, AND their pock­ets for out­ra­geous pre­mi­ums and co­pays.

We are a gen­er­a­tion of peo­ple whose grand­par­ents fought in WWII and killed Nazis.

We used to kill Nazis. My grand­fa­ther killed Nazis. Who knows how many. One of my grand­moth­ers was a riv­et­er and the oth­er was an army nurse. They helped in the ef­fort to kill Nazis.

Now we aren’t even sup­posed to punch fas­cist pricks in the face be­cause ‘that doesn’t help things’ and peo­ple are still ad­vo­cat­ing for ‘open di­a­logue and facts’ when it comes to deal­ing with these ass­holes.

When the mil­len­ni­als are dead and gone and the last holo­caust sur­vivor is long dead and no­body has these sto­ries any­more, what will hap­pen then?

“Re­mem­ber when she used a pri­vate serv­er? Thank good­ness we dodged that bul­let!”

What a stu­pid, de­press­ing fuck­ing coun­try we are.
