‘not today’ at sfcb

Re­cent­ly, a cou­ple of us flom­mists made our way to San Fran­cis­co Cen­ter for the Book to dive into let­ter­press print­ing.

SFCB of­fers over 400 work­shops, ex­hi­bi­tions and events each year – this in­cludes Type­Thurs­daySF (host­ed by even mor flom­mists) – so we had to give it all a taste.

Mer­cy La­gusa and I man­aged to print on a Van­der­cook – com­bin­ing type and el­e­ments from SFCB’s stu­dio.

And, of course, the in­spi­ra­tion for our poster de­sign came from an un­ex­pect­ed four hour com­mute into San Fran­cis­co – closed free­way blocked our route.

Mer­cy came up with ‘Not To­day,’ cause we were de­ter­mined to make it to our class.
