Good job Burke High School.

Now ableist school bul­ly apol­o­gists have a su­per neat new *log­ic* to add to such oth­er dis­mis­sive gems like “not all men” or “all lives mat­ter.”

I can’t wait to see how this one plays out in our fa­vorite cir­cles:

“The bi­cy­cle was the tar­get, not the kid pushed off it.”

“The ball was the tar­get, not the kid’s head it was thrown against.”

“Face­book Mes­sen­ger was the real tar­get, not the girl slut-shamed into sui­cide.”

(nor­mal­ly I’d facepalm here but imma head­desk to­day)

 

I’m sure had the back­pack be­longed to the pop­u­lar able-bod­ied quar­ter­back and not the vul­ner­a­ble hear­ing im­paired child, it also would have land­ed in the toi­let.

BE­CAUSE THOSE FUCK­ING BACK­PACKS, amirite??

Also, if any­one was won­der­ing why we are all end­less­ly ter­ri­ble and can­not to make any real so­cial progress *MAYBE, JUST MAYBE* it has to do with the fact that a pub­lic school just de­fend­ed bul­lies and dis­missed the very real pain and suf­fer­ing of a vic­tim who was tar­get­ed be­cause of a mi­nor phys­i­cal dif­fer­ence even with inar­guable proof of the act – that doesn’t sound at all fa­mil­iar or any­thing.

Clear­ly we are still teach­ing our­selves to be fuck­ing hor­ri­ble at a young age.
