It’s a new rock opera about a cou­ple that adopts a chimp and sends him to el­e­men­tary school and it’s helped me re­dis­cov­er long-dor­mant pock­ets of pure joy deep in­side myself. 

It’s like if Bren­don on Home Movies teamed up with Van Dyke Parks, Nils­son, and Todd Rund­gren to make their own TOM­MY af­ter too much School­house Rock on a Fruity Peb­bles ben­der. If that sounds good to you then get on this one post haste. 

It’s so wide-eyed com­mit­ted to its own dorky ve­loc­i­ty that it lights me up with every lis­ten and I have to have lis­tened to it in full at least a dozen times since its re­lease ear­li­er in the week.
