In my two week break before starting additional classes in Germany, I took an impromptu trip to Denmark to meet up with some players from a LARP I’m heading to in Poland this November.
This was a risk for me, but everyone I met was helpful when navigating this country. We were all together in a nerd pride parade, with many crazy costumes and excellent rooftop party.
Then yesterday we went to the second oldest amusement park in the world, called Tivoli, but we went dressed as our characters. This was was a really interesting experience because the park itself was quite magical, and I was in the company of wizards.
For a while my phone went missing, and I was quite worried but someone turned it into lost and found so crisis was averted.
My take away from the experience is that the Danish LARPing community is very welcoming. It is also way popular here, as some people will attend LARPs as part of their school. From the company I have kept I am inspired to do more experiments with latex weaponry and more detailed costume work.
Much love to all my new friends in Copenhagen.
