“YOU THINK IT’S A JOKE?
The time has come, because we haven’t had an open meeting in quite a while.
BUT WE ARE TIRED OF SITTING DOWN & BEING QUIET.
Join us for our first open meeting of the year, and the first open meeting in the form of an action.”
—Black Lives Matter Sacramento, meeting invite 10 March 2018
This past Saturday, I met a woman named Constance who reminded me of the constants.
She represented a constant in my life.
She reminded me divinity was constant.
And that self love and the love of others is a constant process.
Life is full of constant reminders.
We be thinking normal is magic and magic is normal.
Thank you Constance.
When they say a picture is worth a thousand words,
I could probably write you a 10,000 word essay and not encapsulate this one.
Black women are superheroes.
Blessed to stand beside them while they stand behind each other.
No festival stage or award I’ve been given comes close to the honor of taking the streets with Black Lives Matter. Every time.
So. Much. Love.
“You are not what you have done. You are what you will become.”
