You know, as a Brit liv­ing in the U.S. for some time now, I’ve had one ma­jor ad­van­tage – that of moral su­pe­ri­or­i­ty.

This week­end, read­ing through some of the things that have hap­pened since the ‪#brex­it‬ vote – kids be­ing shout­ed at in the street to “go home,” racists ha­rass­ing ba­si­cal­ly every per­son of colour they see, I’m not only deeply ashamed, I’m kind of pissed off that now I can no longer stand on any kind of soap­box based on my na­tion­al­i­ty.

Fix your shit Britain. I say this with love, but se­ri­ous­ly. We’re bet­ter than that, and we’re def­i­nite­ly bet­ter than the Amer­i­cans. What if they end up not vot­ing for Trump? We’re nev­er go­ing to live it down, how they man­aged to de­feat racism at the bal­lot box and we couldn’t.

I mean, I love the U.S, but I nev­er thought I’d look at peo­ple here and be like “They’re the sane ones, po­lit­i­cal­ly speak­ing.”

I mean, have you SEEN the crap Re­pub­li­cans say in pub­lic?

The peo­ple they have on their sci­ence com­mit­tees think that sci­ence is all lies from the pit of hell. Have we come so far?

DO NOT SINK TO THEIR LEV­EL BRITAIN.

Re­mem­ber Churchill. When you’re go­ing through hell … KEEP GO­ING.
