“It’s irresponsible that bi people don’t talk about the privileges they get passing as heterosexual. They never experience erasure like gays do!!”
And
other sentences I shouldn’t have been forced to read within the first few minutes of being awake.
Imagine being a grown ass adult and thinking that BISEXUALS never experience ERASURE.
The bisexual ‘they’re just indecisive and slutty’ community.
The bisexual ‘just as if not more likely to be the villain in media than a gay character’ community.
The bisexual ‘it’s a totally different thing from pansexual and it’s a transphobic thing at that’ community.
The bisexual ‘it’s just a phase’ community.
Have a nuanced conversation about the similarities and differences between passing as a privileged group and being a privileged group. That’s fine. You’re wrong for saying that’s the same thing, but you can say it and you can be corrected.
But fuck the fuck right off saying that the ‘passing privilege’ bisexuals get is a lack of erasure. LIKE BEING ASSUMED TO BE HETEROSEXUAL ISN’T ITSELF ERASURE.
