I didn’t re­al­ize what yes­ter­day was.

This makes the sec­ond year in a row that this date has come and gone with­out me re­mem­ber­ing.

It’s been ten years. For the first eight of them yes­ter­day was a date that brought an in­de­scrib­able dark­ness with it for weeks be­fore and af­ter. I nev­er thought I would see an April 2 with­out the mem­o­ries of wak­ing up in a pool of my own blood af­ter at­tempt­ing to exit stage left out of this play called life.

Some of you are there right now. Fight­ing for your lives. And I want you to know be­yond a shad­ow of a doubt that if you keep fight­ing it will get bet­ter. And some­day you’ll be so far away from this point right now that you won’t even re­mem­ber things that feel so big and over­whelm­ing right now.

I love you. I’m here for you. You’ve got this. You’re Ul­tra­vi­o­let.
