When
you’ve
been
on
the
cusp
of falling for so long
you take a look
at all the things that alter your balance.
I’ve been holding to these written stories and letters
as if keeping them down on paper really transferred them into something.
You look outwardly
and you see the carved rock walls
that will cut you
if
you
fall
and all those who you worry
that will read these words
will
be the wind
to
send you hurling down.
But I promise you, you don’t have that power.
You are not the wind that will propel me down.
Rather the force I will break through to make it to other side.
I’ve been hanging in a balance.
I have been dancing a tight rope dance.
And as I make this movement it will swing in center.
My foot will cascade up in harmony of motion landing effortlessly
as the next step with the other foot to follow.
