“I hope you like really tough, burnt meat and shitty scotch”
—Crispin Kott’s vows, which he wrote
One of the many
many benefits of being my pal
is that maybe I,
unprompted and apropos of nothing,
will DM you the rap from
the 1984 New Edition classic Cool It Now.
And normal weather returned today, if only for a moment.
There’s a point on the threshold where a Big record becomes so big that it dwarfs itself and it’s hard to hear as a record.
See: Thriller, Nevermind, etc.
It a been a looooooong time since I’ve listened to Out of Time for that reason.
Tonight it sounds fresh again.
Out of time.
Includes Beyoncé doing Blackbird y’allllllllllll

Just like Dazed before it.
Or Caddyshack.
Or Airplane.
And so on.
When I was a lad growing up in Nebraska I saw this Everything But The Girl single cover (above) and the choice of making the transform bounding boxes of the UI part of the artwork BLEW MY MIND.
It was a huge formative experience for me as a young would-be graphic designer.
Enough. Said.
