As I left Costco, the woman who checked me out said,
“You know you’re supposed to eat cheese at room temperature, right?”
I smiled and nodded.
“Yeah!” She said, “I should know! I was the Cheese Queen of Wisconsin in 1982!”
I may have too excitedly said,
“HOLY SHIT! I’M STANDING HERE TALKING TO THE CHEESE QUEEN OF WISCONSIN!”
She let out a genuine belly laugh and threw her head back.
It was the best.
