In my two week break be­fore start­ing ad­di­tion­al class­es in Ger­many, I took an im­promp­tu trip to Den­mark to meet up with some play­ers from a LARP I’m head­ing to in Poland this No­vem­ber.

This was a risk for me, but every­one I met was help­ful when nav­i­gat­ing this coun­try. We were all to­geth­er in a nerd pride pa­rade, with many crazy cos­tumes and ex­cel­lent rooftop par­ty.

Then yes­ter­day we went to the sec­ond old­est amuse­ment park in the world, called Tivoli, but we went dressed as our char­ac­ters. This was was a re­al­ly in­ter­est­ing ex­pe­ri­ence be­cause the park it­self was quite mag­i­cal, and I was in the com­pa­ny of wiz­ards.

For a while my phone went miss­ing, and I was quite wor­ried but some­one turned it into lost and found so cri­sis was avert­ed.

My take away from the ex­pe­ri­ence is that the Dan­ish LARP­ing com­mu­ni­ty is very wel­com­ing. It is also way pop­u­lar here, as some peo­ple will at­tend LARPs as part of their school. From the com­pa­ny I have kept I am in­spired to do more ex­per­i­ments with la­tex weapon­ry and more de­tailed cos­tume work.
