I didn’t know what the vul­ture sym­bol­izes when this draw­ing came out of me, but I knew this im­age was a re­minder of the pa­tience it takes to cre­ate an in­ner, psy­cho­log­i­cal ter­ri­to­ry where all is right no mat­ter who is do­ing what, or what is hap­pen­ing on the out­side.

And then I learned it’s said that the vul­ture re­minds you to choose paths that sup­port your high­er con­scious­ness; to use all your knowl­edge and past ex­pe­ri­ences to ap­proach ob­sta­cles from new an­gles, and to hon­or that you may be fierce­ly pro­tec­tive of those you feel re­spon­si­ble for, but to know when to al­low them to sink or swim.
