One of my fa­vorite

Pe­ter Gabriel songs (pos­si­bly my most fa­vorite) is Games With­out Fron­tiers.

For THE longest time, I thought – at the be­gin­ning of the song – that he was say­ing,

“She’s so pop­u­lar …”

It was only un­til I looked up the lyrics that I re­al­ized he was say­ing,

“Jeux sans fron­tières”

which is French for “games with­out fron­tiers.”

So one day not too long ago, it came up on my Pan­do­ra list again and Aaron start­ed singing along, say­ing,

“She’s so pop­u­lar …”

I ba­si­cal­ly scream-laughed in ex­cite­ment. It’s pos­si­ble he heard me singing it that way at some point in the past be­fore I knew what the lyrics were, but I don’t re­mem­ber do­ing that.

When I told him, he said, “I could to­tal­ly swear he’s say­ing, ‘She’s so pop­u­lar.’”

This gets even bet­ter, be­cause when I told my friend Eric this sto­ry, he said, “So wait, what?! He ISN’T say­ing ‘she’s so pop­u­lar’ then?!”

 

If we’re be­ing hon­est, I’m like this.

 

I’m at that age now

where, if I in­jure sev­er­al parts of my body, they get in a car and ap­proach the parts of my body that weren’t in­jured and say, “Get in los­er, we’re go­ing hurt­ing.”
