I’m just old enough now
To some­times ex­pe­ri­ence a
space when I re­dis­cov­er
peo­ple I’ve loved

I find them again
In some­times sil­ly spaces
In views of In­sta­gram sto­ries
or a torn piece of pa­per
with their let­ters

And slam

They are still there
Buried un­der the new­er,
now irl loves

And the same­same world of
feel­ings emerges, sit­ting
round that per­son

Like kick­ing up a gang of leaves
and then sneez­ing it up
for a few days

I loved you then
And the shape it took was
so par­tic­u­lar
A brash ac­cu­mu­la­tion of
be­gone me and by­gone you

It was a men­tal pony ride
with the sub­mis­sion of
any ponies

back mas­sages and bad songs
a mu­tu­al cac­tus ob­ses­sion
ac­ci­den­tal stay overs

and there I’ll feel ‘We’re blessed’
With­out in­sin­cer­i­ty or
stom­ach acid in my mouth
Be­cause the love went on
Our ca­pac­i­ties nev­er
di­min­ished

I think I’m right and know
I’m right
You’re lov­ing this one
Bet­ter but with the big
same­how
