‘At 7th and L Streets in Sacramento, CA,
there is an abandoned hotel
and apartment building that is
slated to be demolished
for renovation in Spring 2016.
‘Its lifespan,
in its current state, is temporary …
‘30 artists from around the world
[have transformed]
the building,
‘and its 14 rooms, kitchens,
hallways and restrooms into an immersive, temporary,
multi-discipline art exhibit.
‘The show will open on Friday, February 5th,
and close on Saturday, February 13th, forever.’
—About the Project, Art Hotel
Earlier today I visited Sacramento‘s Art Hotel exhibit.
It was utterly wonderful. There was no where one could look that some artist did not touch.
Outside, next to Hotel Marshall, is The Jade. The building existed with great shadows, so geometric lines were painted onto the brick.
There was so much art – it was hard to figure out what amazing souls did what. If you know, please let us know in the comments.
Death.
This man helped me up because I fell on the ramp. He then created paintings with paint on his wheels of his skateboard.
Hole in the ceiling.
Hole in the wall.
David!
Ominous white and gray 3D maze.
And does any of it matter?
It’s all seen as a piece of shit to be torn down. We took the homes away. We took the art away. They’ll replace it with the soulless-ness that always takes over.
Fuck it.
