The Specht build­ing sit­u­a­tion ex­em­pli­fies every­thing that is wrong with our coun­try.

The peo­ple of Om­a­ha do not want to lose build­ings that are on the Na­tion­al His­toric Reg­istry and we CER­TAIN­LY do not want our tax­es be­ing spent so a for-prof­it or­ga­ni­za­tion can build a head­quar­ters and we can have an­oth­er com­plete­ly un­nec­es­sary park­ing garage.

There was a siz­able protest this week, peo­ple have been vo­cal at city coun­cil meet­ings, and there’s a pe­ti­tion with 1,500 sig­na­tures al­ready.

Yet, be­cause a hand­ful of rich ass­holes with in­com­pe­tent, cor­rupt lead­er­ship in their pock­et want it, the deal will go through and we’ll be stuck with a nice park­ing garage and ConA­gra se­quel.

It’s a com­plete joke. That’s not democ­ra­cy, it’s not even oli­garchy. It’s tyran­ny.
