As the youngest child in a decently sized family, with nice gaps between our births, I find it so fucking hilarious hearing older people say,
“Grow up! [insert my opinion that is different from yours].”
Because when I think about it …
By the time the younger individual is the older person’s age, the older person will still always be older – and that older person’s point of view will always be skewed and irrational because they lack whatever connection or capacity to accept their own progression.
Of course this theory assumes the older person isn’t DEAD from old age by the time the younger person is the older person’s original age at the time of their very documented ‘grow up’ comment.
So, in my head, what the older person is really saying is, “I WANT TO DIE.”
So yeah. Just keep that in mind.
If you are one of those older people using that phrase as if biological timelines are more important than intellectual and emotional progression I will literally believe you want to die.
