A very dear friend of mine posted about an incident where she was in an establishment and several employees and most of the customers were not wearing masks.

Someone suggested she report them and another person replied,

Lets not let this pandemic turn us into tattle tales. Just don’t go back to that establishment. I have always taught my kid not to be a tattle tale. It’s ludicrous.”

I haven’t thought about the concept of being a “tattle tale” in a very long time because I am 38 years old and I don’t have children of my own, nor do I spend much time at all around them.

P A R E N T S

is this really still a thing? It seems like such an antiquated, toxic thing to teach a child, right up there with “he’s mean to you because he likes you.”

Obviously it’s important for children to understand the difference between harmless behavior they simply may just not like or be able to relate to, and actual wrongdoing and harm. But in the case of the latter, I would think the child would need to know it’s crucial for them to notify an adult.

Turning a blind eye and simply walking away so the culprit can do more damage and hurt the next person who comes along with their bad behavior is not the right thing to do.

Report it for sure. I get not reporting benign behavior, but this isn’t that.

Not to mention, these people are likely engaging in that behavior repeatedly thereby putting many others at risk.

My industry just had a #meToo reckoning and after everyone was like “oh yeah I knew that guy sucked.”

If those people had actually snitched and let other people know they’d seen that behavior, the amount of harm that would’ve resulted in would be monumental.

alll over the country, assholes are pulling guns on minimum-wage paid employees because they asked them to wear a mask.

There is no such thing as a “good guy” with a gun.

The “good guy” with a gun is nowhere to be seen when a “bad guy” has a gun. Most of the time, he is running in the opposite direction. More toddlers mishandling a glock from within their mom’s purse have shot her dead than “good guys” with guns have ever stopped “bad guys” with guns.

The Venn diagram of people who think they’re the “good guys” with guns and the assholes pulling guns on people when they’re asked to wear a mask is probably almost a single circle.

It’s really unfortunate that Covid-19 isn’t somehow magically discriminatory about who it infects and it doesn’t just target selfish, obnoxious, stubborn assholes who refuse to do their part to help us all get out of this.

What a stupid ugly fucked up country we live in.

A L S O

it would be disingenuous if I said that Democrats never disappointed or annoyed me.

Often it seems like they’re incapable of slapping their ass with both hands, and if they had a theme song it would certainly be Yakkity Sax.

That being said, there is no such thing as “both sides” in this country. Democrats have been the ones trying to stop this thing, and Republicans are nothing but evil, degenerate, greedy pieces of shit who are playing politics with peoples’ lives and livelihoods.

Normally I am not so black and white, but this is one exception.

There is absolutely no beneficial reason for these schools of thought to exist in a civilized, modern society. Republican fiscal ideology has been debunked using history and facts, and it’s all lies anyway to maintain systemic poverty and incarceration to make the rich richer.

Republican social ideology is toxic garbage that means nothing to the ultra-wealthy but works like a charm on either the textbook ignorant or the willfully ignorant.

It is all designed to keep people stupid and make the rich richer, and trick people into thinking they, too, can become rich and powerful if they just “work hard” and pray to the American Jesus.

Republicans and conservatives are garbage

A N D

our country will not recover or move forward into the model of those where quality of life consistently ranks higher than our own until we permanently relegate Republicans and conservatives to the dustbin of history.
