“Ok y’all. It’s civics les­son time. Every cit­i­zen of the Unit­ed States needs to un­der­stand the be­low video is au­thor­i­tar­i­an na­tion­al­ist (i.e. fas­cist) pro­pa­gan­da, pe­ri­od.

“It re­peat­ed­ly pro­motes the idea of ‘us vs them’ say­ing over and over ‘their’ this and that, not ‘our’ this and that, and then goes on to pro­mote vi­o­lence against ‘them.’ To be clear, ‘they’ and ‘them’ are our fel­low Amer­i­cans.

“I’m not even go­ing to touch on the gun de­bate that is awash through­out our coun­try, nor the oth­er many is­sues that our cit­i­zens are di­vid­ed on, that is not the point of this post [from Face­book]. But, the fol­low­ing video by the NRA in anti-Amer­i­can, pe­ri­od. It tran­scends said de­bate and goes straight to pro­mot­ing a vi­o­lent fas­cist po­lice state.

“We are a na­tion of the peo­ple, by the peo­ple, and for the peo­ple. The po­lice serve us, the do not con­trol us. The Unit­ed States of Amer­i­ca was formed on, in­deed was the first na­tion to ful­ly em­brace with­in its Con­sti­tu­tion, the idea of a so­ci­ety based upon Lib­er­al Democ­ra­cy.

“I am not talk­ing about the tra­di­tion­al con­ser­v­a­tive-lib­er­al par­a­digm of U.S. pol­i­tics. All of that, or at least the vast ma­jor­i­ty of it, has ex­ist­ed with­in the frame­work of our so­ci­ety be­ing a Lib­er­al Democ­ra­cy.

“If you are con­fused about ex­act­ly what that means, [here’s] a Wikipedia page … Let me be as clear as I can be, if you sup­port the ideas pro­mot­ed by the NRA in this video you are an en­e­my of the Con­sti­tu­tion of the Unit­ed States of Amer­i­ca, and yes – in­clud­ing its Sec­ond Amend­ment. The words with­in this video are pro­tect­ed by the First Amend­ment, though with its pro­mo­tion of vi­o­lence against our cit­i­zens it may very will rep­re­sent a pros­e­cutable crime, but re­gard­less – it must be con­demned as strong­ly as is pos­si­ble with the words of our peo­ple, and more im­por­tant­ly with our votes. Make no mis­take, our na­tion and its ideas of a free and just so­ci­ety are at stake.”
