My internet has been down for two days so I watched Saving Private Ryan (1998) again.
All I could think about was the men, women, and children who lost their lives fighting against the white nationalist mentality that has again raised its ugly head in our own nation.
Our own police, and citizens stand around and watch it go on just as Germany did. We tolerate it and in Washington, some actually encourage it. I just don’t understand, I don’t understand how people can watch them march down our streets and do nothing, say nothing, feel nothing.
I think about the Antifa who wear masks and uniforms to keep from being identified while confronting them. Yes their tactics are not the best, but at least they are doing something.
When will the rest of us stand up, show up, and put down these nazis, racists, and homophobes?
When will WE take to the streets as parents, teachers, firemen, construction workers, day care providers, teens and put a stop to this disease plaguing our nation?
The past two years have been a despicable time in our nation’s history filled with absolutely deplorable acts of hatred against minorities, immigrants, women, and even children.
I don’t know about the rest of the nation, but I was raised better, taught better, and desire to BE better.
