So one thing about living in Berlin I didn’t foresee was groceries, Lebensmittel. How retail food is handled in Germany is not the same as in the U.S. And since most people don’t have cars – they have grocery stories in the train stations.
The issue though, is that one must carry everything home.
Sure, this is improved by a bicycle but every so often it turns into a work out as I impulsively buy tons of veggies.
Typically in Germany, all stores are closed on Sundays but there’s a market nearby which stays open.
This means it’s crazy packed, sometimes with a line to get in. They also have grocery stores, and crafting stores for that matter, in their malls and large shopping centers.
This is ideal, however I have found the yarn quality to be inferior when comparing prices from what I had in the US – because here I have to use all wool and there I could find acrylic.
Anyway, a slice of life after a morning of vegan treats enjoying a lazy Sunday.
