I have a chess game with 220 pieces per player.
Well, I invented it about ten years ago.
It features towers to defend forward who are composed of three pieces and can then launch arrows.
It has boulders who just tumble when a soldier is moved, it has the entire clergy from pope to priests, first in obelisk like pieces. It has others – such as elves, emos, vampires, succubi, kings, courts and artists. And an emperor.
There would be no time restriction. For moves and to install a break of any time period, there is a juror and a lawyer. There is a waiter to serve drinks or get meals. The size of the board would be a snooker table and it would be art nouveau or baroque decorated.
And I have a nine year old who beat me four times playing it.
These are all the descriptions for the rules and pieces that I have so far:

MAIN PIECES CHART
FIRST LINE The Clergy
You move a Bishop of the first line diagonally 6 4 3 or 2 fields depending on height.
SECOND LINE The Dark Legions
You move the Legions depending on the individual chart. You move the Towers forward one field at a time. They can only move forward and take THREE pawns to take them down.You move the phalanx forward in any way, one field at a time, it can kill any piece even from the friendly side. It takes all the soldiers seated and the main base to take it out completely, which means it takes 7 sacrifices of any piece.
THIRD LINE Boulders
The Boulders roll forward and kill whatever is standing first on their straight path and disappear.
FOURTH LINE Arrows
The Arrows can kill another Arrow, if the Tower is moved forward it can take out the Angels and so on.
FIFTH LINE Angels
The Angels can move forward 7 fields, then move like pawns; they can move two forward first then one field and take a piece diagonally.
SIXTH LINE Pawns
The lower courts first line are Pawns, they move as pawns, they can move first two forward and then one field and take a piece diagonally.
SEVENTH LINE Lower Court
The Rooks, Knights, Bishops and Kings, Queens of the Lower Court and a Lion central. The Lion moves three fields diagonally or sideways. It can leap over other pieces.
EIGHTH LINE Court
Arc Angels can move one field forward and take out forward. Emos can move diagonally and can not take out pieces, though they can only be taken from the back, diagonally or straight into the back. Panthers: The Central seated Panther moves like a nirvana cross, the two left and right move in a hooked nirvana cross. Artists: See individual fields.
NINETH LINE High Court
Elvins can move forward 11 fields and move over others. Vampires can move over others and move exactly 6 fields diagonally.
INDIVIDUAL PIECES CHART
HIGH COURT
EMPEROR
Can take one field at a time, and is taken out in two turns, and his Fractal can freeze pieces on the spot – though this is only one at a time. When it unfreezes a piece the turn passes again to the opponent. The Shield Maiden always follows the Emperor and never goes away from his field. If the Shield Maiden dies the Emperor dies alongside her.
THE VAMPIRE OF MELANCHOLY
Can only move when the Main Court is disturbed, can go anywhere indifferently and cannot die. But does not take anything from the High Court, not The Emperor, The Shield Maiden, Elvin, Death Elvin, not from the Court the Arcs, Not The Emos, Not the Angels. It can change any piece into a Vampire of his side if a Vampire was killed before that move and as many times as Vampires are killed.
THE ELVIN KING
Kills in any direction and returns right away. But does not take Anything from the High Court, not The Emperor, The Shield Maiden, Elvin, Death Elvin, not from the Court the Arcs, Not The Emos, Not the Angels.
THE SHIELD MAIDEN
Always follows the Emperor and can strike individually and move any side around the Emperor, she can only be killed if the Fractal of the Emperor is taken.
THE DEATH ELVIN
The death Elvin Can take to any field in any direction.
THE HOLY EMO
Can Turn a piece to the other side as long as it is not a piece of the High Court or the Court. The Dove is placed on the other piece at any time and to return the Dove to her takes one turn. Where the opponent is back to their side.
THE ANGEL OF LOVELESS
Can move around in any direction. Has to come back to the Emperor at any move away from him. Can not kill anything in the High Court.

Can take out a piece with the fractal after which the fractal is extinguished.
SATYRICON PIECE
Can only move when it has to move over pieces, minimum 6 pieces.
SVARTSYNN PIECE
Moves one field in any direction, takes only the lower court pawns and monarchies.
GORGOROTH PIECE
Takes out three pieces at once, one to the left and one to the right where it lands.
DARK FUNERAL PIECE
Takes out 4 pieces but is instantly dead when that was done. Can only do that to anything except the High Court, cannot move over pieces.
JUDAS ISCARIOT PIECE
Can only take out Bishops and Arrows. Can not move over pieces. Moves exactly 6 fields.
SAMAEL PIECE
Can only take out Succubi and arrows. Can not move over pieces. Moves side ways or forward.
CEREBRUM PIECE
Moves in any direction, can only take everything before the Court and High Court.
SUMMONING PIECE
Can only take out Elves and arrows, can not move over pieces. Moves sideways or forward or diagonally.
PESTE NOIRE PIECE
Can only take out the pawns of the low court, and arrows.
MARDUK PIECE
Cannot be killed by Arrows, can only kill Angels, Vampires and Emos.
CARPATHIAN FOREST PIECE
Can not be killed by Angels. Moves Diagonally. Can only take Angels or the Clergy.
MAYHEM PIECE
Cannot move, Can be killed by the Burzum Piece.
BURZUM PIECE
Can take the Mayhem Piece, (of either side) cannot take anything else.
HECATE ENTHRONED PIECE
Can only kill before High Court and Court. Moves in any direction.
LAMIA ANTITHEUS PIECE
Cannot kill Vampires.
SAMMATH PIECE
Can only kill Arrows and Pawns. Cannot be killed by Arrows and Pawns. Moves forward and sideways.
ASBEL PIECE
Can commit suicide. Cannot take out Vampires, Angels, Emos or Arcs. Moves three fields.
CULTUS SANGUINE PIECE
Can only kill Arrows, the Lower Court and Vampires.
SETH PIECE
Can only kill the lower court and Vampires.
THEATRES DES VAMPIRES PIECE
Cannot kill Vampires. Moves in any direction.
DISSECTION PIECE
Can move any direction and move over pieces. Can only kill two pieces after which it commits suicide.
ARCKANUM PIECE
Moves one field. Takes out only the Lower Court.
AD HOMINEM PIECE
Moves Diagonally, can kill anything. Moves at least 6 fields.
DIMMU BORGIR PIECE
Can kill with Fractal after which it is extinguished.
HELLENIC PIECE (NIHASA ROTTING CHRIST PIECE)
Moves forward and sideways, can not move over pieces. Can only take out Arrows, Angels and Vampires.
I’m not sure about the Soldiers, that would make it, of course, too complex to keep oversight, and I don’t know if there should be a main concept for a move for all the Soldiers.
Also, I’m not sure about the Elves and Vampires, their numbers would be 11 and 5 consecutively but then that would lead to asymmetry.
And I haven’t the capability to fathom the second stage of the game play and there isn’t any technical analysis or work done on it I’m a bit misty there.
Players might also need an individual screen to try things out I imagine, so they can zoom in or oversee things clearly. It has to be 3D, because in 2D, it just won’t be very easy as there are just so many pieces.
