hella purpose

Five years ago I found my pur­pose in a piz­za shop cramped with some of the most pow­er­ful cre­ative spir­its I’ve ever had the plea­sure of know­ing.

Five years ago we start­ed an ex­per­i­ment that is still go­ing on in Sacra­men­to. An ef­fort to cre­ate spon­ta­neous art ex­pe­ri­ences that would be­come sto­ries that start with

“You’ll nev­er guess what just hap­pened.”

We’ve been threat­ened with ar­rest,
shut down by po­lice and in­vit­ed to City Hall by the may­or.

We’ve turned street cor­ners into clubs and con­fes­sion­als.
We’ve held can­dlelit vig­ils and one­sie dance par­ties.

And all of it has been every­thing to me.
Grate­ful doesn’t be­gin to de­scribe.
