It’s because of Fisher’s perfectly-balanced performance that a whole generation of men grew up never thinking twice about women being leaders. Why wouldn’t they?
That a part in a low budget 1970s space opera could leave that kind of long cultural tail is **huge** and it wouldn’t have left a legacy that resonant with any other actress in the role.
RIP Carrie Fisher.
