“Don’t ask for guarantees. And don’t look to be saved in any one thing, person, machine, or library. Do your own bit of saving, and if you drown, at least die knowing you were heading for shore.”
―Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
Ok, let the shock settle in. I’ve discussed our political reality before in my previous articles, No World Mindset, and George Washington: Jedi Master (not to mention it’s detailed in the flomm manifesto; yeah the FLOMM game app villains would actually love to censor our world) but this last decision against Net Neutrality throws me.
We are facing the onset of a technological oligarchy. That’s not hyperbole – this is akin to the Alexandria Library being set aflame. Knowledge will be lost to the masses for short term gain.
A lot of DerTung and Flomm media discuss the hegemony and how we were sold a narrative. History is lie, time is an invention, and money is dark sorcery. In truth, the Empire was never ours. This year wasn’t a glitch in the system … it is the system. Try not to be surprised by an economy that uses you or a government that fears you.
Silver lining: Disruption reveals the facade of our plebeian existence. What happens after the credits are over at the movies?
Tragic, ecstatic, and beautiful life.
I’m ready to leave the theatre.
That’s what Flommists do. We Mobilize. We learn. We teach. Hegemonic forces can’t destroy our community because it’s powered by the very thing they fear: Resolve.
Join the movement.
