To start, I’ve seen a lot of people predicting that Trump’s ego won’t tolerate Elon stealing his spotlight and he’ll get rid of him soon.
I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think this is exactly what Trump wanted.
Trump is 78. He’s a HARD 78. He’d rather be on the golf course or in his penthouse eating Big Macs.
The guy is in love with himself but he definitely ran for president again in part so he could avoid going to jail. He saw an opportunity to take advantage of Elon’s unchecked wealth and influence.
I’m no conspiracy theorist but I absolutely would not be shocked whatsoever if there was some offshore account with hundreds of millions of Elon’s dollars set aside for Trump if he 1) lives through this term and 2) lets Elon do whatever he wants for the next four years.
Elon Musk absolutely wanted to be president, but the Constitution limits that to natural born citizens of the United States.
He found a loophole in Trump. And unless he either gets bored, is Luigi’d, the democrats grow a spine and start raising absolute hell, or people start literally burning shit down (or all of the above) we’re stuck with him because this guy is loving every minute of it and Trump doesn’t give a flying fuck.
Just remember that all of this going on RIGHT NOW is not only the fault* of Trump voters sending him back to the White House, but yes, it is also the fault of all those people who proudly declare that they don’t like Trump and didn’t vote for him but are “centrists” or whatever and they still vote for republicans in other positions.
All but one republican (Mitch McConnell, in a surprising twist) voted to confirm RFK Jr. as HHS Secretary. No democrats or independents did.
So now we have a conspiracy theorist and vaccine denier with no medical background and no prior work in public health leading the agency responsible for protecting the health of the American public.
To dumb it down: If you’ve ever patted yourself on the back over the last sixteen years for being “balanced” or “moderate” because you voted for republicans alongside democrats, this is also your fault. It’s the fault of your friends and family members who pull that lame brained shit too.
And, yes, I also blame anyone who thinks “it’s a safe bet to vote for a republican senator or congressman.” No, no it isn’t.
* We can talk about how pathetic and ineffective the democrats are all day long and how they run bad campaigns and don’t actually care, at least not enough to really be proactive or take off the gloves, and believe me I think all of those things are true, but in the end, a majority of Americans voted for this and whoever continues to vote republican also voted for this and that’s why we have what we’ve got.
